The Yunus Center at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is pleased to announce the successful completion of its professional development training program, "Strategic Human Resource Management and Leadership for Business Transformation", held from December 2 to 6, 2024. Tailored for government officials from Bangladesh Bank, this intensive 3 day long program fostered learning, collaboration, and innovation.
The opening ceremony on November 2 set the tone for the transformative sessions. Prof. Faiz Shah, Executive Director of the Yunus Center, emphasized the vital role of central banks in shaping economic decisions that affect every citizen. His words inspired participants as they embarked on this educational journey.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar Dash, Program Director, also welcomed the delegates and highlighted the enduring collaboration between AIT and Bangladesh Bank.
Held at two prestigious venues—the AIT Conference Center (AITCC) and Ambassador Hotel Bangkok—the training combined academic rigor with practical insights.
The program began with a session led by Dr. Derek Thitsanuthit, a distinguished Human Resource Development Consultant, who explored business concepts, adaptive strategies, leadership for transformation, and fostering innovation in the digital age.
On December 3, Prof. Patricia Arttachariya, a Professor at Assumption University, led an insightful session on "Leadership, Self-Management, and Motivation: Theory and Practice," incorporating practical exercises on leadership dynamics.
The morning of December 4 featured a dynamic session on "Executive Coaching and Mentoring," led by Mr. Reynaldo A. Calabdan, an experienced Training and Organizational Development Consultant. Participants engaged in role-playing exercises to practice coaching techniques, including active listening and providing constructive feedback, ensuring they could foster growth and leadership within their teams.
Dr. Weerapong Sattaphon, CEO at Code of Success, conducted an impactful session on "Critical Thinking and Effective Team Management," emphasizing practical applications for enhancing teamwork and decision-making.
Over three days, the program covered essential themes such as Human Resource Management, Business Leadership, and integrating strategic HRM and leadership principles into organizational frameworks. Participants left the program equipped with practical tools to address transformative business challenges effectively.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Dash praised the long-standing partnership between AIT and Bangladesh Bank, which has spanned over a decade. He expressed hope that this collaboration would continue to foster future training opportunities.
Md. Zabdul Islam, Director of Human Resources Development-1 at Bangladesh Bank, represented the participants and praised the program’s success. He thanked Bangladesh Bank for providing such valuable opportunities and YCA for delivering comprehensive training. The practical sections, in particular, were highly appreciated by the participants, who found them both enjoyable and beneficial for their professional growth.
