Yunus Center at AIT Marks the Successful Completion of the Professional Development Training Program:

& Leadership for Business Transformation
The Yunus Center at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is delighted to announce the successful completion of its professional development training program, "Strategic Human Resource Management and Leadership for Business Transformation", tailored for government officials from Bangladesh Bank. This intensive week-long program offered participants a platform for learning, collaboration, and innovation from 25 to 29 November 2024.
The opening ceremony on 25 November 2024 set the stage for the transformative sessions.
Prof. Faiz Shah, Executive Director of the Yunus Center, underscored the pivotal role of central banks in shaping economic decisions that impact every citizen, inspiring participants for the journey ahead.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar Dash, Program Director, welcomed the delegates and highlighted the enduring collaboration between AIT and Bangladesh Bank.
Held across two esteemed venues—the AIT Conference Center (AITCC) and Ambassador Hotel Bangkok—the training combined academic rigor with practical insights.
The program commenced with an engaging session led by Dr. Derek Thitsanuthit, a distinguished Human Resource Development Consultant. He delved into Strategic Human Resource Planning in a VUCA World, focusing on adaptive strategies, leadership for transformation, and fostering innovation in the digital age.
Prof. Patricia Arttachariya, Professor at Assumption University, led an insightful session on Business Leadership, focusing on key subtopics such as managing self and interpersonal skills and leadership for business transformation.Participants explored practical strategies for enhancing interpersonal communication and fostering collaboration, essential skills for navigating the rapidly evolving business landscape.
On the morning of 27 November 2024, at the Ambassador Hotel, Mr. Reynaldo A. Calabdan, an experienced Training and Organizational Development Consultant, conducted a dynamic session on Executive Coaching and Mentoring.Participants engaged in interactive role-playing exercises to practice essential coaching techniques, such as active listening, providing constructive feedback, and fostering growth-oriented mindsets. This session provided attendees with actionable tools to cultivate leadership within their teams, ensuring a sustainable approach to organizational development.
Dr. Weerapong Sattaphon, a renowned Chief Executive Officer at Code of Success, to deliver an impactful session on Performance Management in the Banking Sector—a cornerstone topic of the program.He underscored the strategic importance of performance management in driving employee accountability and achieving organizational goals. Real-world examples from leading banks illustrated how aligning individual and team goals with organizational objectives can enhance productivity and innovation.
A highlight of the program was a study visit to SCB Academy, where Siam Commercial Bank shared their HRM practices and discussed challenges in navigating the current digital revolution. The program also featured cultural experiences, including a memorable day trip to Pattaya Beach on 29 November 2024.
Over five days, the program covered essential themes such as Human Resource Management, Business Leadership, and Performance Management in the Banking Sector. Participants gained practical tools to integrate strategic HRM and leadership principles into their organizational frameworks, ensuring readiness for transformative business challenges.
For the closing remarks, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Dash highlighted the long-standing partnership between AIT and Bangladesh Bank, which has spanned more than a decade. He expressed hope that the collaboration would continue in the future, fostering more training opportunities through the Yunus Center at AIT.
Representing the participants, Md. Nurul Amin, Executive Director of the Human Resources Department at Bangladesh Bank, praised the program's success. He commended the professionalism of the trainers and noted that the participants were able to effectively absorb and apply the knowledge from the lectures and activities.
In his closing address, Prof. Faiz Shah, Executive Director of the Yunus Center, reflected on the enduring relationship between the Yunus Center at AIT and Prof. Muhammad Yunus, which has flourished over the years. He emphasized the strong partnership with Bangladesh, a country he has worked closely with for many years, and expressed pride in the continued collaboration.
