Who We Are
The primary objective of this training program is to empower mid-career women professionals from SAARC countries in the power and energy sectors by equipping them with advanced technical, strategic, and leadership skills. The course is designed to foster gender-inclusive leadership while addressing the growing challenges of energy transitions in South Asia. It aims to build participants’ competencies in the planning, operation, and governance of modern, integrated power systems, focusing strongly on renewable energy integration, emerging technologies, and market dynamics.
Through six comprehensive modules, participants will gain practical knowledge in areas such as grid integration of renewables, distributed generation, emerging technologies like AI and IoT, and the importance of data analytics and cybersecurity in managing complex power systems. The program also addresses South Asia's evolving energy markets and regulatory frameworks, providing insights into market liberalization, cross-border energy trading, and the policy reforms necessary to support a sustainable energy transition.
Furthermore, a key objective is integrating gender perspectives across all modules, ensuring participants can apply gender-inclusive strategies in technical, regulatory, and leadership roles. The program emphasizes the importance of diversity in leadership, particularly in overcoming barriers women face in the energy sector.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with technical know-how, strategic thinking, and leadership insight to drive innovative and sustainable solutions in their respective organizations and countries, contributing to a more inclusive and resilient energy future for South Asia. Additionally, the program aims to build a strong network of women leaders who can collaborate on regional and global energy challenges.
